On behalf of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma I’d like to invite you to join us for the Stamp Out Hunger Food and Fund Drive is a month-long competition among Oklahoma City’s businesses and organizations earn points by donating funds, food and volunteer time to benefit the Regional Food Bank.
The event is timed to raise critical resources before summer break, the time of greatest need for many local families who struggle to provide the extra food needed during the summer months.
The Regional Food Bank serves 53 counties in central and western Oklahoma through a network of community-based partner agencies. Last year, the Regional Food Bank distributed 51.3 million pounds of food to 1,310 community-based partner agencies. This food and fund drive helps us to achieve and increase this distribution each year.
Participating businesses/Organization Criteria:
How to Participate:
Give food: 1 lb. of food = 1 point
Give money: $1 = 4 points
$1 provides 4 meals for hungry Oklahomans
Give time: 1 volunteer = 50 points per shift
Invite: 10 Points
Invite the Regional Food Bank to speak to your employees about hunger in Oklahoma.
Why it Matters:
Oklahoma ranks in the top five hungriest states in the nation. One in six adults and one in four children is food insecure, that is, without consistent access to food.
On average, the Regional Food Bank network serves an estimated 600,000 unduplicated individuals each year.
