Jan. 27, 2022 – Downs Family Christmas and its visitors donated $28,707 and 7,765 pounds of food for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma during its 2021 season. The donations will help provide 121,298 meals for residents living with hunger across central and western Oklahoma.
“The Downs family puts months of effort into their festive display and over the last decade it has translated to more than 1 million meals for our neighbors in need of food assistance,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank.
The annual Norman-area light show features miles of light strands synchronized to a setlist of holiday music. The display is free, but visitors are encouraged to make a monetary or food donation to the Regional Food Bank.
“We are so humbled by the passion the Downs family has for fighting hunger in Oklahoma and proud to partner with them each year for this holiday show.” Dykstra said.
Downs Family Christmas has benefitted the Regional Food Bank since 2009, raising more than $452,107. Learn more about the display by visiting downsfamilychristmas.com.
