Dec. 5, 2024 – Enjoy more than 18 miles of lights synchronized to holiday music while fighting hunger in Oklahoma. The Downs Family Christmas Light Ministry is once again collecting food and funds to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
The annual holiday light display, located at 2900 72nd Ave. S.E. in Norman, runs through the end of the year. Entrance is free but visitors are encouraged to make a monetary or food donation to the Regional Food Bank. Last year, the display helped to raise $19,011 and 5,395 pounds of food. Since 2007, visitors to the display have donated more than $496,388.
“Downs Family Christmas is definitely a labor of love for the Downs family. Their efforts year-after-year have not only brought a lot of holiday spirit to the metro, but also helped to provide nearly 2 million meals to Oklahomans living with hunger,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank.
The display is open nightly, and visitors can enjoy the lights and music from their vehicles. Learn more about the display by visiting downsfamilychristmas.com.
