One of the core values of OG&E is public service. Since 1989, the company has turned their compassion into action by partnering with the Regional Food Bank.

For the last 35 years, OG&E has provided countless volunteer hours and monetary donations to help make sure neighbors have the food they need. Since 2019, OG&E has generously supported our efforts with more than $63,000 in donations. They’ve even partnered to deliver energy-efficient lightbulbs to help neighbors manage their energy usage and electric bills.

OG&E employees regularly volunteer at events and in the warehouse to pack and sort food, and a number of OG&E leaders have served on the Regional Food Bank board of directors over the years.

Employees from Substation Engineering volunteered this past October and filled 1,164 backpacks for the Backpack Program. They packaged up more than 3,600 pounds of food for children to take home from school to eat during the weekends.

Johnny Whitfield, vice president of business intelligence and supply chain at OG&E, is also a Regional Food Bank board member. He says: “As a proud contributor to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, I stand alongside fellow Oklahomans in the fight against hunger. Our shared vision is a state where no one goes hungry, and this aligns seamlessly with the core values and beliefs of OG&E, where we recognize our company is only as strong as the communities we serve. Together, we nourish not only bodies but also hope and resilience.”

Thank you, OG&E, for the many years of support and the many ways you work to strengthen our communities.
