Make a Tax-Deductible Donation Before December 31
$1 Million Chesapeake Energy Matching Gift Helps Feed More Families
December 27, 2012
OKLAHOMA CITY – It’s not too late to double the impact of your tax-deductible donation. Right now, Chesapeake Energy will match all financial donations made to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, dollar for dollar, up to $1 Million.
“The Regional Food Bank needs your help more than ever to fight hunger in Oklahoma,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “Food distribution is up, and end of the year tax deductible donations will help us close the gap between distribution and need.”
This month, every dollar donated to the Regional Food Bank will provide 10 meals to those in need. Oklahoma ranks as the fifth hungriest state in the nation.
Because the Regional Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) organization, your year-end donation is tax-deductible for tax year 2012 if made on, or before, December 31, 2012. Be a part of the solution. To make a tax-deductible donation to the Regional Food Bank, or for more information about the nonprofit, call 405.604.7111 or visit regionalfoodbank.org.
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is a private, 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that acts as a link through which the food industry and community may donate food and other goods. The products are then distributed to nearly 1,000 schools and charitable feeding programs in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. In fiscal year 2012, the Food Bank distributed 42.2 million pounds of food and product to help the charitable community effectively feed people in need. Since its inception in 1980, the Food Bank has distributed more than 462 million pounds of food to feed Oklahoma’s hungry.
