Kraft Foods Scores Against Hunger

Team Spirit Becomes Spirit of Giving

October 18, 2012

OKALHOMA CITY – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is encouraging Sooner and Cowboy fans to join Kraft Foods’ Huddle to Fight Hunger to give hunger the boot.

“Oklahoma is the fifth hungriest state in the nation, where more than 675,000 people are food insecure,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank.  “The Regional Food Bank provides enough food to help feed more than 90,000 people each week, yet it is not enough.  We encourage Sooner and Cowboy fans to join the huddle today so that others will have a better tomorrow.”

The Huddle to Fight Hunger combines three things Americans are passionate about – football, food and helping others.  Make a donation online via the Kraft promotion at regionalfoodbank.org through Oct. 31, 2013 and be entered to win a Free Year of KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese.  Rules and restrictions may apply.  Every dollar donated will provide five meals to hungry Oklahomans in 53 central and western counties.

Join the fight against hunger in Oklahoma today.  For more information contact Angie Gaines at 405.604.7109 or visit regionalfoodbank.org.

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is a private, 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that acts as a link through which the food industry and community may donate food and other goods. The products are then distributed to nearly 1,000 schools and charitable feeding programs in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. In fiscal year 2012, the Food Bank distributed 42.2 million pounds of food and product to help the charitable community effectively feed people in need. Since its inception in 1980, the Food Bank has distributed more than 457 million pounds of food to feed Oklahoma’s hungry.
