Farmers and BodyWorks Collision Centers Drive Out Hunger

Donate Van and Food to Regional Food Bank

January 3, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY – Farmers Insurance and BodyWorks Collision Centers of Norman teamed up to drive out hunger by donating a van to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.  In addition, customers of both companies filled the van with non-perishable food items were also donated.

“Bodyworks Collision Centers is proud to join in the fight against hunger and is thankful for the opportunity to partner with Farmers Insurance and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma this holiday season,” said Chris Donnelly from Bodyworks Collision Centers of Oklahoma City.

One in six Oklahomans struggles with hunger every day. The majority of those served by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma are children, seniors living on fixed incomes, and working families who cannot make ends meet.  The Regional Food Bank provides enough food to feed more than 90,000 people each week in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.

“Hunger is a year-round issue in Oklahoma,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank.  “We are grateful for this van donation, which will allow us to pick up donations and run our programs.”

The Regional Food Bank is dedicated to “Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope.”  Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is the largest private hunger-relief organization in the state of Oklahoma.

Be a part of the solution.  Through January 15th, Chesapeake will match all donations made to the Regional Food Bank - up to $1 million!
